Co-Director, Foundation EVZ, Berlin, Germany

 

Günter Saathoff has been Co-Director of the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” (“Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft”, EVZ) since October 2003. From October 2000, Mr Saathoff was charged with overall responsibility for cooperation with partner organisations and the payments programmes for slave and forced workers under the National Socialist Regime of the Foundation EVZ before being appointed to the Board of Directors. Since the conclusion of the payments programmes in 2007, he has been primarily responsible for the Foundation’s international funding programmes in the following fields: coming to terms with National Socialist injustice, humanitarian projects, understanding between peoples, culture of remembrance, Jewish life in Germany, and international schools and youth encounter programmes.
