Prof. Dr. Peter Gautschi

Peter Gautschi is Professor of History Didactics and Head of the History Department at PHZ Lucerne and has taught at all primary school levels. He is member of various commissions, since 2006 including the Scientific Committee of the Georg Eckert-Institute in Braunschweig. He is co-editor of the history didactics series and the journal Zeitschrift für Didaktik der Gesellschaftswissenschaften published by Wochenschau Verlag (Schwalbach/Ts.). He has also collaborated on various curricula in Germany, Italy, and the Lehrplan 21 curricula for German-speaking Switzerland. Since 2011 he has been Honorary Professor at the Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg, Germany. His publications include: Guter Geschichtsunterricht: Grundlagen, Erkenntnisse, Hinweise (2009); edited with Ziegler, Béatrice; Schär, Bernhard; Schneider, Claudia Die Schweiz und die Shoa – Von Kontroversen zu neuen Fragen (2012).
