Digital Testimony Collections about Nazi Persecution History, Education and Media

Prof. Dr. Nicolas Apostolopoulos

Nicolas Apostolopoulos, who was born in Athens, Greece, is the founder and managing director of the Center for Digital Systems (CeDiS), the competence center for e-learning, e-research and multimedia at Freie Universität Berlin. He has initiated and organized a number of large national and international research and development projects. E-learning, digital multimedia archives and collaborative learning environments have always been main foci of those projects, supported by third party funding. “Networks of integrated e-learning environments”, “didactic aspects of multimedia teaching and learning systems”, and “problem oriented e-learning” represent the core areas of Apostolopoulos’ work in research and teaching. He has become well known in the research community due to his publications in the respective Velds, his lectures and talks at various congresses, and the numerous conferences he coordinated. He is also member of the managing board of the tri-national Society for New Media in Science and Research (GMW) and active participant in the scientific advisory council of Alcatel-Lucent Stiftungs-Verbundkolleg in Berlin.
